So Tired

I'm glad I was able to get so much work done last night...but I sure am so tired! I am used to getting to bed by 10 or so...but having worked in the basement until 10...I didn't really get to sleep until 11 or later. I'm just exhausted because I didn't get the chance to relax at all...I just worked until bed. I'm glad I did....I just wish I wasn't so tired!

Good Baby

Kaelyn sure woke up happy today. Not that she normally doesn't...but she's in an exceptionally good mood. I don't know why...but I think it's great!! Recently we began putting her to bed at 8 instead of 9...and sometimes I think it gives her a better nights sleep so she can be happier and more refreshed in the morning. I'm sure glad that we have such a good baby who sleeps so well!! I can't imagine if she was one of those who was waking up all the time?!!

Stormy Weather

Last night it sure rained! I didn't even know it was supposed to rain but the hard rain and loud thunder definitely had a plan of their own. The thunder was so loud and strong that it shook the house..or it felt that way anyways. Jen and I were happy that it didn't seem to wake up Kaelyn at all!! I think she sleep pretty hard and much bothers her as far as noise goes. It woke Jen and I though...we couldn't believe how loud it was.

Looking Great

I got SOOO much done last night. I took off work a little early so that I could come home and work on the basement. I worked from about 2 til' 10 and am really happy with the progress. I had a lot of little pieces of drywall to put up and had some screws to put in too. Now all that's left is the mudding, paint and carpet!! :) It's so exciting to see all come together and there's something to be said for doing the work and not having it hired done. It's looking great...pics to come...

Different Tastes

Isn't it funny how different people's taste is?! Like I've mentioned before...my wife and I really enjoy watching the home improvement channel to get ideas for our own home. Often while we are watching the design shows we will look at each other and ask "what are they thinking". I suppose it's not really fair to say that though...as people are allowed to have their own taste in style. It's actually kind of neat because no ones home is exactly the same that way.

Thoughtful Wife

Since I work so much, I usually miss out on all of Kaelyn's "firsts". Thankfully Jen is always so thoughtful, and keeps the camera by her so she can capture the milestones Kaelyn is doing. For instance, when she began crawling, she got it on film for me to see. Then, recently Kaelyn began pulling herself up to a standing position. Thankfully she got that on video as well. It's nice because then I don't feel like I've completely missed out.

Sooo Busy!

I've sure been busy lately!! Work has been taking up most of my days and evenings...then I have been coming home and working on the basement. I know I wouldn't have to be working so hard on the basement during the week...but Jen and I are both SO excited to get it done. WE dont' want it to be a project that drags out over the whole summer. We want to be able to enjoy our new family room and have Kaelyn enjoy her new playroom! I think it's going to look really nice.

Design Star

Jen and I sure like watching HGTV. It wasn't a channel we ever really watched until we got our own home. Now we watch it and get ideas for our own home. It's fun! We even have begun to watch the Design Star reality series...where they're looking for a new designer to have their own show on HGTV. It's a good show, and one we really get into! Unfortunately we missed it last weekend because we didn't know what time it was on. We'll be sure to watch it at 8:00 next Sunday though..I can't wait!!

So Cute

With Kaelyn moving around more and more now....we find her in the funniest, and cutest sleeping positions!! Every night when I check on her before I go to bed...and every morning when I go into check on her before leaving for work...I find her in a different position. Sometimes she's sleeping on her tummy with her butt up in the air, other times she is laying on her side snuggling with her blankey, and even other times I find her sleeping sitting up! haha...that's probably my favorite one! It's just so cute. I'm glad she's in a crib where she's safe since she's obviously moving around a lot at night.

Landscaping

Recently we did some landscaping around our house. We kept it pretty simple, as this is what we like best. So far the plants and flowers all seem to be doing very well! I am surprised, as Jen nor I have green thumbs so to speak. They're all growing very well though, and have really added to the "curb appeal" of our house. At some point we would like to add some more rock to the front of the house and get rid of a HUGE tree in our front yard...but so far it's looking really nice!

Mosquitoes

Last night when i got home from work, Jen had asked me if I would go put the hose away. She was watering plants and the mosquitoes were attacking her like crazy. I went out and she was right...they were everywhere! Late last night we heard the mosquito fogger truck go by. They spray some sort of a bug spray which is supposed to kill them off. I don't know if it really does any good or not...I sure hope so though. They make being outside no fun at all!

Needing a vacation

Jen and I could really use a nice vacation sometime soon. We keep saying how nice it would be just to get away for a while...me her and Kaelyn. I don't know that it will happen this summer, but dreaming about it is always fun! I think we would just like to get away from the stress of work and of life. It would be nice just to get away and relax in the nice warm sun. I hope we can do it sometime soon...it would be good for all of us!

Busy Baby

My little girl is going to be 8 months soon! Can you believe it?!? Wow...where does the time go?! It's crazy how quickly the time has gone, and how much she has changed in under a year's time. Every day she is doing something new and I love to watch. She recently has been pulling herself up on everything. It wasn't that long ago that she was just learning to crawl...and now she's standing up. Wow!! Next she'll be walking probably...then we'll really be busy.haha

Anniversary

Today has been a wonderful day so far! My wife and I are celebrating our three year wedding anniversary. When we woke up this morning I surprised her with a card and little gift. She didn't expect to get anything...so she was very surprised that I went out and found the "promise" willow angel at our Hallmark store. She was so thankful...it was so neat to see her so surprised and happy!! I'm a little bummed that I have to work today, but maybe tonight we can get something to eat or watch a movie or something.

Lean On Him!

Isn't it great that we can always count on the Lord to be there for us?! I am constantly trying to grow in my daily walk with Him, and from what I've learned...He is there for us in the good times and bad. I don't just turn to him when I need help or comfort...he's my best friend...the one I can count on always!! Lately I've been dealing with some things, and without the Lord in my life I don't know how I would get through them or handle them. Knowing Him on a personal level has helped me handle things in a better way and has given me the Faith that everything will work out. My life is in His hands!
