My wife's dad is a police officer. Over the years he's done many things as a part of his job...one being that he was part of a tactical team. For this he had to wear a special uniform that was really pretty neat looking. Work

It's been so nice having the past couple of weeks be so nice outside. The reason I say that is because that way we can get a lot done in the field before the snow begins to fall. In my job we are paid bonuses for the acres we work...so getting thousands of acres in just a matter of days is a huge deal and something to really celebrate! It came at perfect timing too...right before the baby arrives. I'm planning on taking off some time now that Jen is being induced tomorrow and I can't wait.

Bad Credit??

It's crazy how every time I turn on the news or read an article online, I'm hearing that the number of people with bad credit is on the rise here in the US. I'm not sure if it's due to poor budgeting, cost of living, or a mix of the two...but having bad credit does not make it very easy to get back on your feet. The more and more your credit goes down, the harder it will be to bring back up. Well, I should say it's hard to do on your own. Picking a name...

Jen is being induced tomorrow morning and we still don't have a name picked out if it's a girl. We have a couple in mind...but we like both names and just don't know which to choose. It's a tough decision and one that we've just been torn on making. I know we're going to have to make a decision if the baby is a girl....so we're definitely going to have to talk about it more tonight. The time is nearing and will be here in the next day!

I think this would be the perfect time of year to take Jen on a vacation. She absolutely love Orlando and keeps telling me that I would love it too. I may have to secretly plan a trip for her. How Awesome...

Well, the time is nearing and I can't wait to be a dad!! Only 2 days left until our Jen gets induced and I can't wait!! I know Jen is really excited as well. I'm hoping that our baby comes before that though, as the pregnancy is becoming increasingly uncomfortable for Jenna. She doesn't complain about it much...but I can tell the headaches and lack of sleep are really wearing on her. I guess we'll just have to wait and see when our little one is ready to come. We're just excited and still can't believe what a miracle it is to have a child!!

Can't wait to be a dad!

Well...we for sure have less than 48 until we go to the hospital to have our baby!! Who knows...he/she could come sooner, but even if they don't...we know that we will have our baby by the weekend for sure!! We just can't believe that the time is already here! It's crazy to think how quickly 9 months has gone by. I mean, Jen might tell you it's gone by a little slower since she's the one carrying the baby...but still...to think that soon we'll have our little baby is just so amazing! I can't wait to be a dad.

Still No News

Still no news on the baby. We are so hoping that the baby comes soon, preferably before Jen would even have to get induced on Thursday!! She's been getting more frequent contractions throughout the day, but they are not consistent in timing. She's keeping an eye on them though...just in case they suddenly change to a more predictable pattern. We're just trying to stay patient and wait.

Going to Church

When Jen and I moved here last winter, the first thing we wanted to do was find a church. This was something very important to us, and it was very important that we found one. We were fortunate enough to find a non-denominational church that is Bible-based and really teaches the Word. Not only that, but the worship here is amazing!! We just love it!! When the baby comes we know that we won't get to go for a couple of weeks probably, but that's ok...we'll be back soon enough.

Holiday Season

I am really looking forward to Christmas this year. I think mainly because by then we will have our new baby here with us and it will be our first Christmas as a family of three!! Baby News

Jen and I are really anxious to meet our little one. He/she was due yesterday, but we had a feeling that she may go past her due date since this is our first baby. We are trying to wait patiently...but boy is it hard when you're so excited about something like the birth of your baby!! We're at least comforted in knowing that she will be induced Thursday if the baby does not arrive by then. We are so excited to know that this weekend we will have our little one at home with us!! It's been a long time coming...and we are so excited that the time is finally here.

Having to work weekends...

Although I like the fact that work has been keeping me busy, I'm bummed that I may have to work this weekend. Especially bummed that I may have to work Sunday. I always enjoy going to church and I know Jen likes it when I'm able to go with her too. It's too bad, but sometimes in the busy season I'm unable to go. We've actually been really lucky because most weekend I've been able to go. I guess one time isn't a big deal...I just miss not going when I'm not able to.

Grocery Shopping Early

Jen and I were talking and we're planning on getting groceries a bit early this week. Normally we'd go out and get groceries on Friday or something, but with the baby for coming by Thursday, we feel that we should be a little more organized. That way we'll have plenty of food here after we get home from the hospital. Maybe we'll go on Tuesday or something?!? We'll have to see.

More Leaves

Every weekend for the past month or so, I've been getting a mower of my uncles that has a vacuum on it to pick up the leaves in our yard. It seems that each week our yard just fills up with the leaves that continue to fall. I don't really mind it...it just takes up much of my day. I have to first rake up some leaves and put them in the truck. Then I have to take the mower and vacuum up the remaining leaves. While all this is going on I have to take load after load to the landfill. It's a lot of work.

Waking up early

When I first started my job last Spring, I remember waking up early was really difficult for me to do. I was used to sleeping in and not having to get up early. Now that I've worked there a while and gotten used to the early hours, I don't mind getting up early at all. In fact, I often wake up before my alarm. The only bummer about it is that I can't seem to sleep in on the weekends when I actually can sleep in. I'm so used to waking up early that I just wake up early on the weekends too. Oh well...

Speaking of basketball getting started...I'm kind of bummed that Kevin Garnett is no longer playing for the Timberwolves. I am a huge Minnesota fan and I'm sad that he's not playing for them anymore. Basketball Season

As I've said in the past, I am a big Sports nut. I really enjoy all kinds of sports, but my favorites are probably football and basketball. The NBA season is actually just about to start which is really exciting. I can't wait!! I know I won't be watching it too much, as I'm going to want to spend time with Jen and our baby...but it will still be nice to watch every once in a while.

Nice Dry Weather

It's been really nice weather to work in the fields lately. It's been dry, so it's been easy for us to spread the fertilizer that we need to. I like it because it means that we're getting some work done finally. It was so rainy there for a while that it was tough to get anything done. Everything we get done now will mean that much less to do in the Spring. That's fine with me:)

Work Shirts

My work has never had shirts that actually have their logo on them. The guys kind of put me in charge of figuring out how we could go about getting some. I recently came up with a great idea and I think we're going to be purchasing some for the workers there. I'm looking forward to it and can't wait to have some Hi Yield gear. It'll be nice to wear the name of the company and not just my own shirts.

Regency

I really have always enjoyed purchasing things on ebay in the past. Some guys at work figured this out and now they always are asking me to purchase things for them. They always pay me back, but it gets to being a lot of work when everyone continues to ask me to bid on things for them. I don't really mind though. It's actually kind of fun. I love searching for the best deal and bidding on auctions.

Soon to be parents!!

Wow...not much longer now!! Jen had her appointment yesterday and they told her if she doesn't have the baby by Thursday that she'll be induced. We're pretty excited because that means we're for sure going to get to meet our little on in less than a week!! It's SOOO exciting. I can't wait to be a dad. I know that we're both going to just love being parents.

Jen's so tired!

I sure am feeling bad for Jen these days. I think it's just the weight of the baby on her ribs, but she just has not been sleeping well at all. Last night she slept from 12-4 and then couldn't sleep the rest of the night. She got up at 7 with me and started her day. She's so tired, and just can't seem to get comfortable to sleep. I can't until she is able to at least sleep a little bit more, because I hate seeing her so tired.

Work on the deck...

The past couple of times that Zoe's been at our house, she has been crawling under our deck when she's outside. She is too big to be crawling under there and she gets stuck a lot. Before she comes up to stay with Bill and Vicky after the baby is born, I'm going to buy some board to put up on the deck so that she can't crawl under there anymore. It will be nice to have to keep out the rabbits and kittens too.

The World Series is always a fun thing to watch this time of year. I really enjoy all kinds of sports...so watching baseball is just another one of my many hobbies. It would be a dream of mine to actually get to see the World Series in person one year, rather than on the TV. Window Tint

With a baby on the way...I've been really wanting to get our back windows tinted so that the sun is not shining on our baby's face. I'm really excited, because I finally talked my wife into letting me order some to put on our car. I don't know if I'll get it put on before the baby comes, but I definitely am planning on getting it done soon. I think it will be really nice to have on there. Jen doesn't know if she'll like it...but I'm sure she'll love it after it's all said and done.

Bumbo Chair Recall

Jen and I have been doing some last minute shopping for our little one lately. I pointed out the Bumbo chair that you see all over these days. She informed me though that these are actually being recalled because children are falling out of them and actually fracturing their skulls. Over 1 million have been recalled I believe and all are being pulled off the shelves. I'm glad that we didn't end up getting one...as we don't want something dangerous like that for our child.

World Series

I've really enjoyed watching the world series these past couple of nights. Tonight the Red Sox are playing the Colorado Rockies in games two of the MLB World Series. Last night's game wasn't even close...Boston winning it 11-2. I can honestly say that I expect the Red Sox to sweep the Rockies tonight in this best of 7 series. I never really get into baseball much, but I have to say that the World Series is another story...I really like it.

Great Football Game

What an amazing football game I just watched. Number two Boston college was down 10-0 to Virginia Tech with under 5 minutes to go in the game. The coolest thing about this game was that they still ended up winning the game with a touchdown off of a recovered onside kick. It will go down as one of the best comebacks in college football...that's for sure!!

The time is coming...

Well, I'm pretty happy that our baby will soon be here with us. I know Jenna's really excited about that too. Her doctor's appointment went great today....they said that they thought she could probably have the baby within the next week. If she doesn't though, they are going to induce her on Thursday morning. Her doctor doesn't really want her going beyond 41 weeks because of her size...so we're both really excited that we get to meet our little one very soon.

Good Work Days

It's been really nice weather outside lately...so thankfully I've been able to get a lot done at work. It's been really good timing actually, as the due date of our baby is nearing and I need to get as much done as possible!! I've been working pretty good hours, not getting home too late...but still getting lots done at work as well. I'm happy and hope tomorrow goes just as well!

God's Creation!

Many times I find myself gazing out the window in awe of how beautiful God's creation is!! Not that I don't do this many times throughout the year, but the Fall time is really when I find myself enjoying nature and all that He has created!! It's so beautiful watching the animals and all the trees turning colors!! I just love it!!

Many of us grow up in church and hear all about the Lord, but that personal relationship with Him truly develops when He becomes...EVERYTHING to us!! New Devotional

My wife and I were recently talking about getting a new devotional to get us even deeper in the Word. We discussed many, but decided upon one by Kenneth Copeland. Pursuit of His Presence is the name of the devotional...and so far we both just LOVE it!! What a great way to grow deeper in Him and the Word!! Kenneth and his Wife co-authored this devotional and did a fantastic job! Each day there is a message, accompanied by a verse and several readings to study further. It's been a wonderful thing for both of us and we just love being able to do that together! Blogging is a Blessing

Jenna's brother Jake introduced us to blogging about a year ago, and what a blessing it is. Not only has it given us extra money, but it has also given Jenna the ability to stay home and work. Blogging is something that she'll be able to do even when the baby is born. Thanks Jake for this opportunity! What a blessing it has been for us.

Missin' Zoe

I came home from work yesterday to no dog waiting for me. Over the past week that is what I was use to. Zoe would always be sitting at the front door just waiting for me to get home from work. And she would be standing at the garage door as I walked in. Now I have to wait until our baby is born to see her again. I miss her.

New Brakes

My wife and I started noticing that our car was making a really weird noise as we would go down the road, and would get worse when we would brake. I thought at first that there could be a problem with the suspension, but as I started to listen, I could tell it was the brakes. I purchase the shoes and drums for the car through work and saved $50 which was awesome, and when I took the shoes off it was very obvious that is what it was.

Boy or Girl?

With the countdown to when our baby is going to be born, Jenna and I have found ourselves trying to decide what name to choose for a girl. I like Kaylee, and Jenna likes Kaelyn. I really don't mind either because they both are original but I like the way Kaylee sounds. I'm glad we didn't have this much trouble with the name Kaden if it's a boy.

Leaves, Leaves, and more Leaves

Saturday I had to clean up all the leaves in our yard. I have never seen so many leaves fall from one tree. It took me 3 full pickup loads to clean them all up, I even took the lawn mower and vacuumed up what was left. But waking up today I found myself waking up to more leaves on the ground from that same tree. What a frustration.

I have never been to Orlando before, but my wife tells me it is quite the place to go on vacation. She remembers going as a young child with her family, and really wants to make sure that we take our children one day!! Finally a day off

I worked for 30 days straight without a full day off and was I dragging. So with all the rain that we have gotten it has been nice to actually get my weekends off and be able to spend time with my wonderful wife. Brrrrr...It's Cold!

I don't understand this Minnesota weather, just last week the temperatures were up in the 70's and this week they have been in the 50's. It's crazy how the weather can swing 20 degrees in just 7 days. It just gives me the feeling that winter is right around the corner and I really don't like winter! Winter's here in the norther midwest are extremely cold and not much fun!!

Kava

I have never really been a big coffee drinker, but with the job I have, I have gotten used to drinking a little bit more of it here and there in the morning. Do or Die for the Vikings

I really love the Minnesota Vikings, but I must say that they are an unimpressive 1-3 at this point in the season. They really need to win against the Chicago Bears to keep them in contention for the NFC North. Tavaris Jackson is in his first game back for his hamstring injury that he suffered a few weeks ago. So we'll just have to see what happens I guess. Hopefully all goes well?!?!

Fantasy Football

I need a big day today in my fantasy football league. I am 3-2 right now which puts me tied for 3rd place. I've lost a couple of close match ups and can only hope that I can get on a winning streak and win some games to put me up on top! T-Minus 14 days!!

There is only 14 more days before Jenna is due with our first baby. I am so excited to be a Dad. It makes me nervous to think that we could be very busy at work, which would make it hard for me to be available right away when I get the call. All I can hope for is that it rains that day. Either way though, I will be taking off quickly....someone will just have to replace me out in the field!! The birth of our baby is more important than any job.:)

Another Rainy Day

I can't say that I am disappointed that it's raining today. Because if it wasn't raining I would be working and I would honestly rather be watching the NFL. I told my wife that I am torn, see with it being busy season for work, this is where I make all my bonus money. But I also like to go to church on Sunday's with my wife and watch my Vikings.

3 weeks

I can't believe we only have 3 weeks left until our baby is due. I'm really looking forward to being a dad, and I know Jen is really looking forward to being a mom. We've been waiting to meet our little one for 9 months now, and can't wait until he/she arrives so we can finally hold them in our arms. It will be so awesome...I hope these next three weeks go by quickly.

Nice Day

Today has turned out to be such a beautiful day! The weather is just gorgeous. There was no rain today, so thankfully we were able to get some work done out in the fields. It was so clear out today and the temps were so enjoyable! I love it when it's not too hot and not too cold. I wish every day were like today. I think tomorrow is supposed to be nice, but then Friday it's supposed to rain again. Oh well, I guess that's how it goes.

The holidays are nearing, so that means Christmas shopping is on the minds of many, including myself. I've already begun to think about what I might get Jen this year. I definitely think she would appreciate some new clothes, as all she's been wearing the past 9 months are maternity clothes. Raking

I just love this time of year. The trees look so pretty with all of their orange and yellow leaves. The only thing about fall that I'm not wild about is the raking up of the leaves. I think I might see if there is someone who can come blow the leaves in my yard this year....as we have lots and lots of trees which pretty much makes our yard look like all there are is leaves everywhere. You can't even hardly see the grass it's so covered.

Garage

I of all people am pretty proud of my garage. I have never had a garage before just a couple of months ago when my wife and I bought our very first home. This was very important to me, as I like working on cars and doing other kinds of projects and wanted a nice garage to do it in. Today

What a long day. I'm so glad that the work day is over and that I'm finally home to spend some time with my wife. I love getting home at a descent time...that means more time to spend together. We're just loving our new home and getting everything ready for the baby, so time at home is always nice. I think we may get some groceries tonight too...hopefully it doesn't get too late. Maybe we'll have to go before supper this time.

Ready For the Baby!

This past weekend we had a baby shower for the baby that we're going to have on the 28th. We received a lot of great gifts that will surely help for when the baby comes. Things like diapers, a swing, a bounce seat, onesies, and clothes, just to name a few. I can definitely say that we are now more prepared for the baby.

Rain Rain Go Away!

We have gotten 5 inches of rain of the past few day and I want it to stop. With all this rain we can't get into the field to spread fertilizer. I want to get start, the earlier we get started the earlier we get finished, and I want time to spend with my wife and soon newborn baby.

Monday Night Football

On Sunday nights, when I'm going to bed, I always dread having to go back to work the next day. Then I remember that Monday Nights there is football on, that gets me excited. I am such a big football fan that I'll watch any game doesn't matter who's playing. I really enjoy watching it when Jen will lay down by me and watch it too. That makes the evening perfect!!

Finally getting some sleep

For a while there, Jenna wasn't sleeping too well. I felt so bad for her, because she'd be up for hours and hours on end in the night, and then be completely exhausted by the time morning came. The baby moves around a lot at night, and with him/her getting bigger and bigger, the movements make it difficult to sleep and cause her to have to go to the bathroom a lot more. Thankfully...she's been sleeping a little bit better over the past few days though. That's good, because she really needed to get some good rest.

What a Great Wife

Jen has been working so hard on getting the thank yous done from the baby shower this past weekend. Even though she is not working out of the home, she works so hard when she's at home!! I would say that her jobs at home keep her much busier than my job does. She does so much of the cleaning, the laundry, working online, and doing lots of odds and ends things like getting the baby room ready and doing thank yous. I help her as much as I can when I get home from work, but I feel bad that I can't be there more during the day to help her too. I'm looking forward to this winter when I can take lots of time off...so I can be home with her and the baby and help her out a lot more. I'm so lucky to have her...she's such a great wife and soon to be mommy!!

27 days and Counting!

There is only 27 days until Jenna is due with our new baby. We don't know what the sex of it is so we are also excited to find out if it's a girl or boy. I am excited to finally see the face of the baby that has been growing in my wonderful wifes tummy for the past nine months.

Finally a Day OFF!

With all of the rain that we got this past weekend, I was able to finally get a day off. I worked 30 straight days without a day off. When I say days, I'm not talking 8 hour days, I'm talking some 13 and 14 hour days, long days. So it was nice to be able to get a day to catch up on my sleep and spend some time with my wife and family. Want a great weekend.

Prison Break

The TV show Prison Break is now in it's third season on FOX, and I am just amazed at how the writers of this television show can keep me is suspense throughout the whole hour. I started watching the show halfway through last season and have found it to be my second favorite show to 24 which is also on FOX. Check it out Monday Nights at 7 p.m.!
