Growing Up

I just can't believe how fast our little girl is growing up. It still feels like we just brought her home from the hospital, and now she's talking up a storm and such a great big sister. In november she will be 3 already. Where does the time go? Seriously! I wish it would slow down a bit. I think the time with Kaden is even going faster. Yikes! Is that even possible?

Consignment Sale

Once we had Kaelyn, we started going up to the cities to a huge consignment sale that goes on twice a year. They basically have everything any parent would need for their child....especially clothing. Everything is used, but in great condition for the most part and so cheap!! In a month we will be heading up there again to get clothes for her for the winter/spring months...as well as for Kaden.

Investment Options

As a young guy with a growing family, and many years of work ahead of me, finding the best way to invest my money. There are so many different options between what a job may have for you as a retirement package, or what you may look to do on your own. Right now I have two great things that my job provides for me, the first being a Non-contributory Pension and also a 401k. Having other investment options like buy gold eagle coins allows me to expand my portfolio and have less risk involved. This is especially helpful when you are in a bad economy, like we are currently in, because it allows you to take all the risk of losing money and put it into a commodity that will continue to appreciate over the years.

Summer in Iowa

The summers in Iowa are very unpredictable. Last year we had two days that were above 80 degrees and the rest were an average of 70 degrees. This year has been the complete opposite, we have already had more day above 75 degrees than we did all last year. The problem that we are having this year is the rain we have been getting. It seems like it will rain for two days and then be sunny for 2 days. It makes it difficult to do anything because in a few days you end up right were you started

Vacation

With the weather being so cold and nasty lately, I've already started to think about where we should take our summer vacation. I'd love to go somewhere warm, and I know my wife would as well. I've heard great things about the Karisma Hotels. Have you? They have a gourmet-inclusive concept which would be terrific since we love food! It sounds so relaxing there with their great service and fantastic accommodations! It would make a fantastic Honeymoon Getaway, but also a good family vacation spot as well. I hope we're able to go, I think it would be wonderful. I wish we could go now instead of waiting.

Sick of Snow!

Today is January 7th and I am so sick of snow. This winter we have already had three big snow storms, in past years we were lucky to only get one. The last snow storm was last night and today. Last night we go 6 inches of snow and today we got the high winds making it very difficult to see and big snow drifts made road conditions very difficult too. Only 3 more months of winter!

One Week Old

One week ago today our little son was born. We decided to be surprised about the gender, so the day we found out was wonderful! Now we have a little boy and a little girl....life is great! I am loving having two kids. Kaelyn sure loves having a little brother. I wasn't sure how she'd react to having our attention split between her and someone else, but so far she's handling it very well. I'm happy about that. She can't get enough of him and loves to give him hugs and kisses.
